Who i am
I started my big-kid career as a high school German teacher. Over the span of a decade, I figured out how to get teenagers to be excited about learning something that they absolutely did not need. My strategy was simple: establish rapport and trust so that I could deliver rigor disguised in comprehensible input and make it joyful. Over time, I turned a suffering elective class into a waitlisted program in one of the largest school districts in Northwest Ohio.
When I consciously switched gears to teaching boutique fitness for one of the world’s most successful and well-known brands in the business, I harnessed the same approach. Eventually, the corporate training and technique team of said brand scooped me up and I got to flex and extend my knack for captivating and influencing people to dozens of studios and hundreds of coaches, instructors, and teachers from British Columbia to Puerto Rico. I got to be a leader with the brand behind the local studio that changed my personal and professional trajectory.
After five years on the corporate side of boutique fitness, I came to a realization. It isn’t a brand or a specific modality of fitness that makes an impact. For me, it’s all about the connections I get to build with real individuals in pursuit of being a little better and better.
Coaching
As a trainer and boutique fitness teacher, I’ve developed a keen understanding of strength and mobility training principles. Further, having paid for a handful of running coaches, I appreciate deeply the impact of a mentor-mentee relationship in fitness pursuits.
I will use my array of experience, certifications, and accomplishments in group fitness and running combined with an acute awareness of emotional affect in order to get you feeling stronger, better, and maybe even more joyful than you already are.

Purpose
Emotional affect (your degree or intensity of joy, sadness, and all other emotions) can influence the way our bodies respond to exercise, nutrition, and rest, and the inverse of that is just as real. Similarly, strong proprioception (mind-body connection) is key for controlled movement and stillness, and it is possible to improve proprioception with comprehensible guidance.
In a nutshell, part of my mission is to teach you what to do, including how and why, so that you can own your body. And a non-negotiable is that the process and outcomes will overwhelm you with joy
